Vickers Laboratories Ltd are proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Insider “Made in Yorkshire” Innovation and Small Manufacturer Awards 2016.  Amongst the entries are some of Yorkshires finest businesses who are continuing to demonstrate first class examples in sales, growth, innovation and export.  Paul Bottomley, Commercial Director at Vickers Laboratories commented: “Industry awards recognise the consistency, reliability and quality of a business, and it is with great pride that Vickers has been recognised amongst a number of prestigious Northern businesses by the team at Yorkshire Business Insider.

The Innovation award will be judged on those businesses deemed to be the most forward-thinking, investing in advanced manufacturing processes, techniques and equipment, solving problems and providing added value to customers.

The Small Manufacturer award will be judged on businesses which turn over no more than £20m and has made outstanding contribution to their manufacturing sector as a whole.

Vickers Laboratories entry was founded on their new manufacturing facility, an expansion of its current site in Pudsey, which is dedicated to the purification of N-VINYL-2-PYROLIDONE (NVP) producing optomer™, a key component in the production of the latest market leading silicone hydrogel contact lenses.

With over 20 year’s experience in the purification of this vital raw material Vickers has become a world class supplier in this market.
